Classification And Types Of Protective Fittings

May 10, 2025

Protective fittings can be divided into many types according to their functions and application scenarios. Among them, there are two main categories: mechanical protective fittings and electrical protective fittings:

Mechanical protective fittings: mainly used to prevent mechanical damage such as vibration and dancing of conductors and lightning conductors. Common mechanical protective fittings include anti-vibration wires, anti-vibration hammers, spacer rods and suspended weights. These fittings can effectively absorb and disperse the vibration energy of conductors under the action of external forces such as wind and ice through their unique damping or shock absorption mechanisms, protecting the conductors from mechanical damage.

Electrical protective fittings: mainly used to improve the electrical performance of electrical equipment and prevent the occurrence of electrical phenomena such as corona and arc. For example, the voltage-equalizing ring used for insulator strings is a typical electrical protective fitting, which can evenly distribute the voltage on the insulator string and reduce the possibility of corona discharge; at the same time, the shielding ring that prevents the generation of corona and the voltage-equalizing shielding ring composed of voltage balancing and shielding are also important electrical protective fittings, which can further improve the insulation strength and electrical performance of electrical equipment.
